From a shy child to a champion for young voices

Lisa found her voice through writing.

As a shy child, Lisa discovered a way to express herself through words. Today, she encourages children to find and use their own voices through storytelling, music, movement, conversation, and creative expression.

With a background in social psychology, business, communications, branding, and public relations, Lisa creates heart-centered programs that help children feel seen, understood, valued, and inspired to grow.

Her books, songs, school assemblies, and literacy programs combine joyful entertainment with meaningful lessons about confidence, kindness, creativity, resilience, teamwork, and belonging.

Innovation beyond the page

Stories became a show when teachers and children needed connection.

During the pandemic, Lisa used technology to create Unicorn Jazz Presents The Thing I Do. Puppets, storytelling, music, and engaging lessons offered teachers and students a joyful way to learn and connect.

Her programs have been highlighted in news outlets and celebrated by school principals and teachers. Today, the show’s spirit continues through music videos, character voices, school assemblies, and creative learning experiences.

Acknowledgements

The people who believe in us can change our lives.

“I have had so many ‘Woof the Crows’ in my life—people who believed in me. I invite others to give gratitude to those who have helped them along the way. Perhaps you are the one who believes in another and shows it. That can be life-changing to someone.”

Special thanks to the editors, parent bloggers, mompreneurs, collaborators, friends, and family who continue contributing ideas, encouragement, stories, and heart to the growing Unicorn Jazz brand.

“My writing helps parents and educators have important conversations with children that include compassion and understanding. Through social skills and communication, children can do much more than they ever realized. Some top takeaways from my children’s books have been: ‘I am different, and that’s awesome.’ ‘We’re all different as human beings.’ ‘We all strive for friendship, kindness, and love in our lives.’” — Lisa Caprelli
