There is something truly special about sharing stories with young children in person. During a recent preschool visit in Orange County, children’s author Lisa Caprelli brought reading, music, imagination, and social-emotional learning to life through her colorful Unicorn Jazz book series.
The children gathered closely as Lisa read aloud, invited participation, and encouraged them to sing, move, laugh, and share their ideas. Interactive author visits help young learners connect with stories in a memorable way while building confidence, listening skills, creativity, and a love of books.
Lisa’s preschool and elementary school programs weave together storytelling, music, and age-appropriate social-emotional learning, also known as SEL. Themes such as kindness, belonging, friendship, empathy, courage, and celebrating differences give educators meaningful opportunities to continue the conversation after the visit.
As the author of 22 books in English and Spanish, Lisa enjoys creating joyful literacy experiences for diverse school communities. Her visits can be customized for preschool classrooms, elementary school assemblies, libraries, literacy celebrations, family nights, and special school events.
