Rancho Mirage is a city located within Riverside Valley and is one of nine cities that make up the Coachella Valley/Palm Springs area. Main attractions to the city include its status as a major tennis and golf tournament host, as well as Rancho Mirage’s many parks, natural reserves, hiking trails, and outstanding mountain views.

Unicorn Jazz & Palm Valley School Author Visit
On February 15, 2023, the award-winning author of the children’s Unicorn Jazz stories and songs, Lisa Caprelli, will be presenting to the elementary students of the Palm Valley School in person! We at Unicorn Jazz are so excited for the opportunity to join up with the staff and young learners of the Palm Valley School as part of our virtual World Read Across America Tour!
Home of the firebird mascot, the Palm Valley School is an infant-12th grade independent college preparatory that is committed in its school mission to being an exceptional learning community that educates, nurtures, and challenges each student to achieve excellence and contribute to our global society. We at Unicorn Jazz are looking forward to presenting to the students of the Palm Valley School as the core of its educational curriculum centers on paving the way for our future leaders by providing an environment where it is ‘cool’ to be smart, and author Lisa Caprelli is excited to share her message with the brilliant young minds of the Palm Valley School with the lessons found in her Unicorn Jazz stories and resource material.

- Order forms for books towards the Palm Valley School will be given in advance.
- Reading, writing, and behind the scenes from the Unicorn Jazz book series will be read
- Teachers can share or read in advance of this visit, the Unicorn Jazz book one– storytime and the Unicorn Jazz Friendship song to get familiar with the characters and stories themes of friendship, belonging, kindness, social-emotional learning.
