Being Unique Like a Unicorn With a Talented 3rd Grader: Everleigh Murphy
An actress, model, competitive dancer, singer, and songwriter, Everleigh Murphy is an incredibly talented and positively energetic third grader with curly red hair, vibrant blue eyes, and adorable freckles who loves to perform.
BEING UNIQUE LIKE A UNICORN IN ACTING
Whether it’s singing, playing the violin, dancing, modeling for a campaign, or acting on-stage or on-camera, using her gifts and talents to entertain others is what makes her feel most alive. She is super excited to be a part of Unicorn Jazz – The Thing I Do.
She previously played a unicorn for a role in a Lucky Charms commercial, and we are so glad to have her here to share her wonderful story!
Despite her young age of eight years, Everleigh is already an artist of all kinds and many trades who loves all things Disney.
Her dream is to put all of her creative skills together for a Disney movie/tv show role that involves a lot of dancing and singing much like her favorite films, Zombies, and Descendants, or even doing voice-overs for animated motion pictures.
Things Everleigh Loves To Do
Oh how she loves traveling, going camping, learning about history, exploring nature, visiting museums, or riding her bike.
Everleigh loves doing all of her favorite things even more with family and friends.
She also loves writing, reading books, and learning new things in school. Science classes are appealing to her.
Her favorite books are The Girl Who Speaks Bear and The House with Chicken Legs by Sophie Anderson.
Bob, is on her bookshelf by co-authors Wendy Mass and Rebecca Stead.
In the future, Everleigh would love to give back to her community by sharing the gift of reading through advocating for library importance.
New Things Everleigh Would Like to Learn
Performance-wise, Everleigh would love to learn acrobatic skills, such as backflips and other aerial tricks, and is currently training to do so.
As an avid nature enthusiast, she would also love to learn how to do woodworking. It seems super cool. It combines two of her favorite things, using natural materials and building something new and practical.
She spends a lot of her free time creating art by drawing and painting, or even making sculptures, toys, and ornaments out of recycled objects.
Obsessed with Lego, and any other blocks and pieces that she can build something with, she enjoys thinking creatively.
Everleigh recently won an art contest in her local area which was a really exciting moment and a proud achievement for her. She’s even considering studying to become an architect in the future.
What it Means to be Creative
Being creative to Everleigh means finding a way to let your imagination run wild. She feels it’s important to let kids explore their ideas. It’s also a good idea not to place restrictions on creativity.
Being creative ultimately boils down to being your true self and not judging yourself or other people during the process.
Everleigh feels most creative and produces beautiful work when she just lets the art flow through her without any hesitation.
Positive Messages of Hope for Kids & Teens
The Coronavirus pandemic has been a terribly difficult time for everyone to deal with. However, Everleigh believes that it’s important for all of us to come together. No one is alone in this. It’s an experience kids face across the world.
With this in mind, she is currently writing a song titled “Alive” for her upcoming album centered around inspiring others who are feeling sad and down.
Everleigh wrote her first single “Livin’ in a Virtual World” when self-quarantine first began in the Spring of 2020.
During this time, she wanted to use her voice and music to connect with other kids. “Many kids were experiencing life in the same way as me. I wanted to express the feelings and emotions we can all relate to.”
Being Unique Like a Unicorn in Thoughts
“Believe in yourself and think happy thoughts!”, says Everleigh, “You are unique and loved! Be positive, and be grateful for all that you are because YOU MATTER and there is no one else like you on earth!”.
She believes each and every single person has their own special talents that they were given which make their own unique inner light shine.
