Life is Not Boring When You Do What You Love Says 13 Year Old Mia Martinez

/ January 22, 2021

Mia Francesca Martinez is a Latina 13-year-old rising star in the world of performing arts!  Do What You Love to be able to give back more of who you are to the world, is one of her mottos she lives by.

Do What You Love and Cherish the Love

Born to parents of Cuban descent, Mia is super appreciative of her mom and dad for all they’ve done and sacrificed to fulfill her love for theater. A huge inspiration for Mia was her involvement in the “How the Grinch Stole Christmas Musical” national tour.

Her participation in the event was a dream come true for hers, a dream which her parents helped bring to fruition.

Define Yourself While You Do What You Love

Mia knew she wanted to dive into the world of performance after watching “Matilda” on Broadway when she was 8 years old.

In the future, she wants to be known for spreading joy and inspiring kids to work hard, pursue their dreams, and do what they love. After all, what’s the point of reaching for something if you don’t love what you’re doing while you’re getting there!

In the eyes of Mia, hard work is an essential practice that always pays off in the end. She is a firm believer that a person is naturally their best self when they are immersed in doing things that they love.

Artistic Challenges as a Kid

The greatest advice Mia can give to her peers is to simply “Be Yourself!”  She believes that a person shouldn’t be limited in their self-expression.

Do What You Love So Life Is Not Boring

Oftentimes, people get too wrapped up in what they think others what to see, instead of what they want to create. “It shouldn’t be difficult being who you are,” says Mia, “it’s that unique originality in us that makes us special as individuals. Can you imagine how boring life would be if everyone was exactly the same and only shared common interests?”

Creativity Beyond Your Usual Imagination

To Mia, being creative means digging into a totally out-of-the-box way of thinking. By wandering off the standard, conventional path you might just find yourself coming across something that’s really interesting and new. The process of being creative is all about having fun and running with the flow of ideas. In other words, just be yourself and see where it takes you!

“It’s not how you start or finish that matters…it’s about the journey and the work you put in to get there.” – Mia Francesca Martinez
