Children’s Author Teams Up with Authors Globally for Children’s Hospitals Outreach
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴!
It is always a great time to give the joy of reading to kids. Many children at Children’s Hospital of Orange County can enjoy a new book they can read over and over again. So far we have over 500 children’s books and more are on the way thanks to the collective efforts of people like you.
And because kids are always at the hospital, there is no deadline. We will keep collecting books and giving to Children’s Hospital of OC. We are making our first book delivery Monday, December 14, 2020 and then the end of December. Come back here for updates! And will continue on as the public gives!

A CHILDREN’S BOOK DRIVE INITIATIVE FOR OTHER LOCAL HOSPITALS
Unicorn Jazz and friends sees that this children’s book drive can grow a system that can be duplicated city by city. For hospitals and classrooms that have “virtual tour” capabilities, we can accommodate this, too!
“Before the Pandemic, when doing in person storytimes and songs for the kids at Children’s Hospital of Orange County, an average of 50% of the kids were Spanish speaking. Therefore, our ask has been to give English and Spanish books for the kids this holiday season.” ~Lisa Caprelli

If you donate 5 or more books, we will make you a *CUSTOM GRAPHIC image to SPREAD THE JOY OF GIVING. (Come back to this page for the updates) We request that the FIRST ROUND OF holiday donations be mailed on or before December 10 so that we have adequate time to sort and share the new book gifts as requested by the children’s hospital. We are also collecting a second round of books to be delivered at the end of December for other children who will be spending it at the hospital
In these uncertain times, community support is more important than ever. As a non-profit hospital, CHOC relies on your support to go above and beyond for patients and families. CHOC treats over 150,000 children annually, regardless of their ability to pay.
Many kids at children’s hospitals are isolated. Imagine the joy that just one book can impress upon a child. Please donate a brand new book to be distributed before Christmas time.
Donation Book Drive for Children’s Hospital of Orange County
Unicorn Jazz team is accepting brand new paperbacks or hardcovers. Books donated should be for children of all ages for CHOC. Mail on or before December 10, 2020.
They will all be dropped off directly to Children’s Hospital of Orange County by Lisa Caprelli. Simply mail, unwrapped book(s) (It can be directly from Amazon)
Lisa Caprelli and the Unicorn Jazz team will sort and take photos of all the books we deliver to CHOC.
We have made special arrangements to deliver books all at once per CHOC guidelines.

A CHILDREN’S BOOK DRIVE INITIATIVE WE CAN ALL SHARE IN 2021 AND BEYOND!
This book drive and give initiative, is one that we’d like to continue in the event an author or supporter reading this does not have the resources to donate books now but would like to in the future.
There are many new children’s authors who are just now beginning their books or who are waiting for a publishing date and would want to participate in 2021. We encourage you to contact us to continue this book drive give.
SHARING A NEW SONG FROM THE ORIGINAL CLASSIC “12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS” TO RAISE AWARENESS
To raise awareness for Children’s Hospitals, author, Lisa Caprelli created the 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS song. Its original new music video with fun lyrics for kids to sing along to will debut December 2020.
At first, we were hoping to get 12 kids, each to sing a verse of the song. We are overjoyed that we had the enthusiasm from 24 kids who donated their time, talent and voices.
Even though, we are in COVID times, that did not stop the 24 kid singers. They all successfully recorded, sang, and share a beautiful greeting for kids. t is for kids who are isolated at all children’s hospitals, including Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

Thanks to the collective help of Leorah Haberfield from Shine Theatre Arts Project, and the Unicorn Jazz Team, 24 kids have come together to sing, cheer, clap and dance to celebrate holiday cheer!
